The middle-over phase proved decisive for MI. Despite a strong start from GT, the loss of key wickets during overs 12 to 16 increased the required run rate, placing immense pressure on the remaining batsmen. This phase shifted the momentum in favor of MI.

Sai Sudarshan, along with Washington Sundar, made a rampage of 84 runs, but could not ensure Gujarat’s victory. Sundar played a stormy innings of 48 runs in 24 balls. After Sundar was dismissed, Gujarat lost wickets at consecutive intervals. Sherfa Rutherford was dismissed for 24 runs and Shah Rukh Khan for 13 runs. At the same time, Rahul was able to score only 16 runs despite being a set.

Rohit Sharma overshadowed Sai Sudarshan

Sai Sudarshan maintained the hopes of Gujarat’s victory in the innings of 80 runs in 49 balls in the eliminator match. Sudarshan hit 10 fours and a six in his innings. But his strong innings, Rohit Sharma’s 81 runs could not dominate. Rohit scored 81 runs in 50 balls, during which he hit 9 fours and 4 sixes.
